Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

This policy covers the health-related questions in the WeightCareMatch quiz specifically — your goal, height and weight (used to calculate BMI), insurance situation, and state — plus the age-gate question. It supplements our general Privacy Policy.
Your answers stay on your device
The quiz runs as code in your browser. When you answer a question, that answer is held only in your browser’s temporary memory for the duration of your visit — the same way an unsaved form field works. It is never sent to our servers, never written to a cookie or local storage, never sent to our analytics provider, and never sent to any telehealth program — including the ones we match you with. Closing the tab or refreshing the page erases it completely, because it was never stored anywhere to begin with.
This applies to every health-related answer the quiz collects:
- Your stated goal (for example, exploring GLP-1 medication options or finding the lowest-cost option)
- Height and weight, and the BMI calculated from them
- Your insurance situation
- Your state
- Your age-gate answer
The authorization checkbox in Washington, Nevada, and Connecticut
If you tell the quiz you’re in Washington, Nevada, or Connecticut, your results screen shows an extra checkbox before the “visit this program” links become active. We added this because those states’ consumer health data laws — Washington’s My Health My Data Act, Nevada SB 370, and Connecticut’s data privacy act — define “consumer health data” and “sharing” broadly, and we want to be conservative about anything that could be read as sharing health information you’ve told us about.
In practice, because your answers never leave your browser, checking this box does not transmit anything to us or to the programs shown — there is nothing to transmit. What it actually does is unlock the outbound links on that results screen, in your browser only. Your choice and the time you made it are held in memory for that session and are, like your other answers, never sent anywhere and never saved after you leave the page.
What we collect instead
Because we never receive your quiz answers, we have nothing health-related to store, sell, or share. What we do collect is a small set of non-health analytics events (page views, quiz progress by step number and timing only, and clicks on program links) — see the “Analytics we collect” section of our Privacy Policy for the exhaustive list.
Access, deletion, and correction requests
Because WeightCareMatch never receives or stores your quiz answers, there is no server-side record tied to you for us to provide, correct, or delete — the architecture itself is the deletion guarantee.
